Trauma-Informed Expressive Art Therapy Level One

It's been a hot minute since I posted on this blog. Life has definitely been busy to say the least.

In April, I was finally able to finish my last foundations course allowing me to finish my Trauma-Informed Expressive Art Therapy Level One course from The Trauma-Informed Practices & Expressive Art Therapy Institute. This is something I have been working towards since 2018.

In order to complete my level one I needed to complete a total of 5 courses:

Introduction to Expressive Arts Therapy: History and Foundational Practice

Body Based Approaches and Expressive Arts Therapy - which focused on yoga and movement and linking it with art therapy

Resilience, Post-traumatic Growth & Trauma-Informed Expressive Arts Therapy Practice (Part One)

Resilience, Post-traumatic Growth & Trauma-Informed Expressive Arts Therapy Practice (Part Two)

Trauma-Informed Expressive Arts Therapy Foundation Course

Each of these courses taught me a lot about my own feelings and emotions and way gave me ways to deal with them using a variety of media. Some focused on breathing, others focused on learning where those feelings resonated within the body. They dove into the connections between mind and body. The goal of these courses what to learn about these techniques and work through them to better understand how to use them.

There are a few other courses that I am interested in and will use to continue my education. I also hope in the upcoming years to become a yoga instructor to create even more connections with what I have learned.

Always learning!
