Yoga Journey (30)

And that's a wrap! 30 days just like that. I skipped a few days because I wasn't feeling well, but I made sure to go back and complete them. I am amazed at how much I ended up enjoying myself. The Home series was a perfect starting place, and even though it took me longer than 30 days to complete I still managed to reach my goal.

30 days of yoga had a lot of benefits. I got stronger. Formed a positive and healthy habit; one that I plan to continue. It was the perfect stretch to wake me up in the morning. My body felt better and healthier. During the course of my yoga journey, there were days that I didn't want to do anything. Two friends of mine were completing their separate journeys and we decided that we would hold each other accountable. This helped motivate me on those tough days, but it also gave me someone to vent to. Sometimes it wasn't even about venting, it was letting them know I was having an off day and getting feedback, tips, and encouragement to help me through it. Of course, not every day was sunshine and rainbows, but the good outweighed the bad and I can't thank my little team enough.

I found that the Home series that I was following from Yoga with Adriene was actually a perfect way to ease into doing yoga every day. It's set up to push you, but it's also made for beginners. There were a lot of days when I was sore, and it was like the videos knew... a bonus for me.

Since this went so well and I enjoyed the videos, I'm going to complete the Yoga with Adriene Dedicate series which is also 30 days. If you're interested in starting your own practice and don't know where to start I have included a link to day 0 of Dedicate.

My mat is becoming my happy place, space where I can go to on both a good and bad day. That's why I have decided to splurge and get myself a new mat because I wore mine out. I ordered the B Mat (every day) from Halfmoon. Halfmoon is based in Burnaby, Canada, and makes yoga and meditation props. With everything that is going on I have decided to either by local or make sure it is Canadian made. I am extremely excited about my mat and can't wait for it to come in.
