An Expressive Journey
March 21, 2020
I hope this blog finds you well and in good health.
COVID-19 has been described as a war by some people, I personally feel like that is an accurate description of our current crisis. For veterans who have lived through wars, I am sure they have never seen the likes of this. We can't see what we are fighting. It was a surprise attack and one that will have lasting effects on mankind. However, depressing it may seem, it is important to understand that this will most likely be a very traumatic event for a lot of people. Everyone will cope with the circumstances differently; which is why it is of utmost importance that we take care of our emotional and mental wellbeing.
In the coming weeks, I will be completing a course on Yoga and Expressive Art Therapies and sharing my new-found knowledge. I will also be working on myself, meditating more, being mindful of what I eat, exercising, and doing more things that feed my soul. As I do so, I plan on posting about the different expressive activities that I am completing so that you may too. My hope is that during this time we can start to look internally and listen to our needs as humans.
Some activities will include:
- yoga (I will attach links)
- meditation (I will attach links and readings)
- expressive art activities (I will make sure to include photos)
- Personal tips and tricks that I have developed over the past few years
